Part Time Dispatcher (Mortuary Transport)

We’re seeking a reliable and organized **Dispatcher** to join our in\-office operations team in Birmingham, Alabama, and be the critical communication link between our clients and field transport personnel. This position is part\-time and works a 12\-hour shift in person at our office in Birmingham, Alabama, every other Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This position will work 24 hours, paid bi\-weekly. **Job Description:** As a **Dispatcher** at Stateline Mortuary Transport, you will: * Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls and service requests. * Coordinate and dispatch transport teams to calls in a timely and efficient manner. * Monitor the status and location of drivers using tracking systems. * Communicate with funeral homes, hospitals, medical examiners, and families with professionalism and empathy. * Maintain accurate records of all dispatches, service calls, and shift reports. * Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with internal protocols and state regulations. * Remain calm and organized during high\-pressure situations, ensuring seamless service delivery. **Requirements:** * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Must be able to work in the office; this is *not* a remote position. * Flexible availability, including weekends, nights, holidays, and on\-call shifts. * Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with discretion and respect. * Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. * Excellent communication and problem\-solving abilities. **Qualifications:** * High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree a plus. * Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, emergency communications, or mortuary services preferred. * Familiarity with dispatch software, GPS tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Must pass a background check and drug screening. * Professional demeanor and strong sense of integrity. **Why Work With Us?** Stateline Mortuary Transport offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of a team that plays a vital role in providing respectful and timely transport services.
