Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

**Job Summary** Warlick Funeral Home, a respected family owned funeral home serving the Lincolnton community since 1911, is seeking a compassionate, professional and detail\-oriented Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our team. This position plays an important role in guiding families through meaningful funeral experiences while providing exceptional care with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong embalming and restorative art skills, excellent communication abilities and a commitment to serving families with dignity and compassion during difficult times. **Key Responsibilities** · Family Arrangements**:** Meet with families to plan and coordinate funeral, memorial, and graveside services. · Technical Preparation**:** Perform professional embalming, dressing, cosmetology, and casketing of the deceased in accordance with state health and sanitation laws. · Service Direction**:** Lead visitations and funeral services ensuring all logistical details (clergy, flowers, military honors, etc.) are handled with precision. · Administrative Compliance: Accurately complete and file death certificates, burial\-transit permits, and other necessary legal documentation. · Removals \& Transportation: Assist with the respectful transfer of remains from the place of death to the funeral home. · On\-Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating on\-call schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays. **Qualifications \& Requirements** · Licensure: Must hold a valid *North Carolina Funeral Service License* \-dual Funeral Director and Embalmer. · Education: Degree in Mortuary Science or Funeral Service from an accredited program. · Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a licensed professional is preferred, though exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered. · Driving Record: Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record for operating company vehicles (hearse, work van, etc.). · Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and move up to 75–100 lbs. and stand for extended periods. · Core Competencies: Strong interpersonal communication, proficiency in general computer skills, and a high level of integrity. **Benefits** · Competitive salary · Health, Dental, and Vision insurance · Paid Time Off (PTO) Benefits: * Health insurance * Paid time off * Professional development assistance Work Location: In person
