Job Description
**Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Funeral Director to join our team. This vital role combines professional funeral directing with personalized care, ensuring families receive respectful, empathetic support during their most difficult moments. As a Licensed Funeral Director, you will oversee all aspects of funeral service operations, coordinate arrangements, and provide bereavement support to families. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and sanitation will ensure that every detail is handled with precision and dignity. **Duties**
* Coordinate and manage funeral arrangements from initial consultation through service completion, ensuring all client needs are met with compassion and professionalism
* Provide bereavement support to grieving families, offering guidance and emotional comfort throughout the process
* Oversee the preparation of remains, including cosmetology, dissection, and sanitation procedures to uphold the highest standards of care
* Conduct heavy lifting safely when handling caskets, remains, or equipment necessary for funeral services
* Plan and organize funeral events, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination with vendors or clergy
* Ensure compliance with health regulations related to sanitation and safety protocols in all aspects of funeral service operations
* Assist with sales activities by explaining service options and product offerings to families while maintaining a focus on compassionate customer service
**Qualifications**
* Valid license as a Funeral Director in accordance with state or regional requirements
* Proven experience in funeral directing, event planning, and customer service roles
* Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to mortuary sciences
* Ability to provide empathetic bereavement support tailored to individual family needs
* Familiarity with cosmetology techniques for restorative work on remains
* Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures within a mortuary setting
* Ability to perform dissection when necessary for embalming or restorative purposes
* Physically capable of heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during funeral preparations and services
* Excellent communication skills combined with sales aptitude to guide families through service options effectively
