We are a family owned full service funeral home with onsite crematory, cemetery, and monument company. Only 60 miles from the Gulf of America for beaches and fishing. **Responsibilities** * Coordinate and oversee funeral services, ensuring all arrangements are executed with compassion and professionalism * Provide bereavement support to grieving families, offering guidance and comfort throughout the planning process including pre\-planning * Manage the preparation of deceased individuals, including sanitation, embalming, and cosmetology * Lead event planning for memorial services, coordinating logistics with vendors, clergy, and family members * Assist families with selecting caskets, urns, and memorial products while providing exceptional customer service * Ensure compliance with health and safety standards related to sanitation and handling of remains * Conduct sales of funeral\-related merchandise and services to meet families’ needs while maintaining ethical standards * Rotating on call schedule with every other weekend off * Proficiency in overall computer skills such as Word, Excel, etc. and funeral related software used for case files, accounting, and video production **Experience** * Valid license as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in Georgia or able to obtain license in Georgia. Will consider a candidate in Apprenticeship * Experience in funeral directing, including managing funeral ceremonies from start to finish * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to empathize and communicate effectively with diverse populations * Experience in event planning, logistics coordination, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during removals and when handling caskets or other memorial items * Familiarity with bereavement support practices and providing compassionate emotional assistance * Georgia Insurance license and Certified Crematory Operator a plus but not mandatory * Cemetery experience a plus but not mandatory We are committed to supporting your professional growth by offering opportunities for ongoing training with paid continuing education courses.
