Embalmer and Funeral Director

**Overview** We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Embalmer and Funeral Director to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to families during their time of loss, ensuring that all funeral services are conducted with dignity and respect. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge, customer service skills, and emotional intelligence to guide families through the grieving process while managing the logistics of funeral services. **Responsibilities** * Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including planning, logistics, and execution. * Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and empathy during their time of need. * Prepare deceased individuals for viewing by performing necessary sanitation and cosmetology tasks. * Conduct consultations with families to discuss their wishes and preferences for the service. * Manage event planning for memorial services, ensuring all details are addressed. * Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with health regulations. * Assist in the transportation of deceased individuals, which may involve heavy lifting. * Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations during services. * Stay informed about anatomy and physiology to provide accurate information regarding the deceased. * Engage in sales activities related to funeral products and services as needed, as well as community engagement to further widen the chapel exposure and brand. * Any other jobs duties as assigned. **Skills** * Strong knowledge of bereavement support techniques to assist grieving families effectively. * Understanding of physiology and anatomy related to funeral practices. * Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients. * Experience in funeral directing with a focus on compassion and professionalism. * Proficient in event planning, ensuring that every detail is meticulously handled. * Knowledge of sanitation practices relevant to the preparation of deceased individuals. * Skills in cosmetology for preparing bodies for viewing when necessary. * Ability to perform dissection as required for certain cases within legal guidelines. * Physical capability for heavy lifting associated with transporting deceased individuals. * Sales acumen to effectively communicate the value of funeral products and services.
