**Reports To:** Public Relations Manager
Summary/Objective The position of PR Specialist is established to support and develop the PR/Volunteer Program and Community Outreach Programs as well as yearly event support.

**Customer Service:**
Clear and Concise Communication both verbal and written.
Interface with customers in\-person, electronically and on the phone.
MS Office – Excel, Word and Outlook.
Event support to staff.
Volunteer Coordinator – Horticulture \& Docents
Develop a more in\-depth onboarding / training process
Expand and grow the volunteer program
Learn Better Impact and be able to train others
Complete a volunteer leadership course if opportunity arises
Coordinate meetings/lunch \& learns.
Track volunteer work using Volunteer Impact application.
Arrange for training/outings when needed.
Operate Spring Grove Tram.
Respond to all volunteer\-related calls \& emails.
Tour Support– Spring Grove Cemetery \& Arboretum
Respond to tour\-related calls \& emails when Historian is unavailable.
Backup docent/fill\-in if needed.
Prepare and process related payments into CMS.
Coordinate with Horticulture staff for all horticulture tours.
Events – The Spring Grove Family
Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues.
Provide feedback in planning event details and aspects for Spring Grove and Volunteer Events.
Participate in coordinating events and addressing potential problems that may arise.
Participate in set\-up and tear down of event items.
Work closely with the Grounds Team when coordinating events.
Gather items from other locations on Spring Grove property.
Event items to be returned and stored in an organized manner.
Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. Required to lift up to 40 pounds. Several events require you to be outside in the sun and/or on your feet for many hours.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full\-time Non\-Exempt position. Business days and hours of work are:
Monday thru Friday with events that may require other days and hours.
Work schedule may vary due to events with manager’s approval.
Work may involve periods of high physical, mental and/or emotional stress.
Travel Local travel maybe required between campuses for support.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
1\. Experience in Communications or Marketing is a plus
**2\. Adobe Suite of products:** Photoshop, In\-Design, Illustrator – Experience preferred but we will train the right candidate.
3\. The candidate should have knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word.
4\.Knowledge of Windows operating system.
5\.Presentation skills.
6\. Displays a “Customer First” attitude.
