**Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Hospice Chaplain and Pastoral Spiritual Counselor to provide spiritual support and guidance to patients and their families during end\-of\-life care. This role requires a strong foundation in hospice care, Christian counseling, and crisis intervention, with a focus on delivering personalized spiritual services that respect diverse beliefs and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to foster comfort and hope in challenging circumstances.
**Duties**
* Provide spiritual assessments and counseling tailored to the individual needs of hospice patients and their families.
* Offer bereavement support through individual or group sessions, helping families cope with loss and grief.
* Lead religious services, prayer sessions, or spiritual rituals as appropriate to patient preferences.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate spiritual care into overall patient treatment plans.
* Conduct educational presentations on topics related to hospice care, spirituality, or grief management for staff or community groups.
* Facilitate crisis intervention by providing emotional support during urgent or sensitive situations.
* Mentor and guide volunteers or less experienced staff in delivering compassionate spiritual care.
* Manage conflict or difficult conversations with sensitivity, ensuring respectful communication at all times.
**Experience**
* Proven experience in hospice care or palliative settings with a focus on spiritual counseling or chaplaincy.
* Strong background in bereavement support, crisis intervention, and Christian counseling techniques.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor others and manage sensitive situations effectively.
* Excellent presentation skills for conducting educational sessions or community outreach events.
* Exceptional communication and writing skills to document patient interactions accurately and compassionately.
* Experience in event planning for community programs or religious gatherings is desirable.
