**POSITION OVERVIEW:**
Pierce Mortuary Colleges is looking to hire an On\-Site Adjunct Information Technology Instructor for the Winter 2026 quarter. The Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for creating and sustaining an effective learning environment through well\-prepared instruction, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear documentation and feedback on student progress, and support of academic success for all students. **Courses must meet a minimum enrollment threshold for the Adjunct Faculty member to receive full compensation of $850 per credit hour. Enrollment below the required minimum will result in proration of compensation.**
**REPORTS TO:** The Adjunct Faculty works under the guidance and supervision of the Academic Dean.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
· Develops the syllabus for each course assigned based on Pierce Mortuary College (PMC) criteria. The syllabus is to include learning objectives expressed in behavioral terms.
· Distributes the syllabus to the Academic Dean and to each student on the first day of the term through the Learning Management System (LMS).
· Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog, ensuring alignment with the outlines from the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) and the Job Task Analysis (JTA) from the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards.
· Prepares and grades examinations based upon course objectives and published exam schedule and returns all assignments in a timely manner. Some exams may be standardized and required for mid\-term and final assessment purposes.
· Provides grades to all students by established timeframes.
· Implements evaluation for outcomes assessment and achieves established results while maintaining college standards of student satisfaction according to established Pierce Mortuary College criteria and provides substantive feedback to students on assignments in a timely manner established by PMC.
· Implements instructional strategies designed to promote student engagement, persistence, and retention.
· Begins and end each class at the designated times, providing a full period of instruction.
· Provide tutorial assistance and academic advising to all students when needed.
· Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user.
· Submits, at the designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster.
· Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, maintains a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and posted electronically at the end of the term.
· Follows up with absent students in accordance with college attendance and retention policies and submits reports to the Academic Dean as required.
· Hosts at least 1 office hour per week.
· Attends faculty meetings, in\-service meetings, professional development sessions, or watches the recordings afterwards.
· Dresses professionally in accordance with the faculty dress code.
· Additional duties are outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Performs miscellaneous job\-related duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES:**
· Master’s degree required from a regionally accredited college/university.
· At least 18 semester hours (or equivalent) in the field of study related to the course. A Master's in the subject area is preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff, and community from diverse backgrounds and commitment to a culturally diverse work environment.
· Teaching experience preferred.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:**
· Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
· Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs.
· Teaching and facilitation skills.
· Ability to maintain an effective and respectful classroom learning environment.
· Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques.
· Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:**
· Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
· Light physical effort. Requires handling of average\-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
· Limited exposure to physical risk.
