Job Description
**Description of Business:**
Sunset Memorial Gardens is a cemetery set on 23\-acres along US Highway 12 Aberdeen, serving families of all faiths and in various stages of need. Services provided include pre\-need planning, sale of products from markers and monuments useable in any cemetery, urns, and vaults, to burial options including traditional ground, indoor or outdoor crypts and cremation niches. The staff takes great pride in caring for the grounds and providing service to the families they serve.
**Primary Duties:**
The Office Manager oversees all aspects of the office duties such as answer the phone, keeping files updated, recording property and burials, filing required documents with the state and county, paying bills, payroll, making deposits, maintaining staff records, ordering and maintaining supplies for the office, communicating with funeral homes, businesses, families and staff, maintaining cemetery calendar, putting obituaries on website, overseeing flower, wreath, veterans memorial and tree programs.
The Pre\-Need Advisor \& Sales aspect of the position is working with individuals and families to purchase merchandise and property used at the cemetery for now or future use, listening to what they want, and understanding what they need while providing information to help guide their decisions and understand what Sunset offers; sellable items, trusts, perpetual care and funeral arrangements plus communicating these options in an understandable manner necessary. The ability to work with seniors to young families is crucial.
It is helpful for the candidate to be willing to assist with committal services. Planning and marketing skills are helpful. The office manager reports to the General Manager of Sunset Memorial Gardens.
**Job Requirements**:
Candidate must have or able to become a Notary Public. Candidate must have good writing and speaking skills. Candidate must have a good understanding of QuickBooks, importance of documentation, keeping records, filing, telephone etiquette, computer skills; word, excel, and email. Light housekeeping duties is also required. The successful candidate must be able to pay attention to detail, be able to multi\-task or be able to change direction at a moment’s notice, work well with staff and public with emphasis on being courteous to the families served.
**Days/Hours of Work:**
Saturdays and Sundays are considered time off except in the case of Saturday burials. Hours for regular work week is M\-F is 9:00 AM – 4 PM. May be asked to work a Saturday burial on occasions as well as any additional Sunset activities such as Memorial Day program.

Full\-time employees receive 6 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave and health insurance. Pay and any other possible benefits to be negotiated upon acceptance of position.
Pay: $39,000\.00 per year
