Mortuary Transporter

**Job Summary** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mortuary Transporter to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and respectfully transporting deceased individuals between funeral homes, hospitals, and the mortuary facility. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our community by providing essential transportation services with empathy and reliability. **Responsibilities** * Safely operate specialized vehicles, including shuttle vans, limousines, or other transport vehicles, to move deceased persons between various locations. * Ensure proper handling and securement of bodies during transit, adhering to all safety and health regulations. * Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of transport vehicles to ensure optimal operation and hygiene standards. * Communicate effectively with team members, funeral directors, hospital staff, and families to coordinate transportation schedules smoothly. * Assist with heavy lifting and loading/unloading of caskets or body containers using appropriate equipment and techniques. * Follow all protocols for respectful treatment of the deceased, including proper documentation and chain\-of\-custody procedures. * Keep detailed logs of transportation activities, vehicle inspections, and maintenance records. **Requirements** * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service is highly preferred. * Experience in commercial driving or as a school bus driver, paratransit driver, or similar role involving passenger or cargo transport. * Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external partners. * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly. * Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure vehicle safety. * Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach when interacting with families and colleagues. * Reliable transportation experience with a focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
