**Job Summary**
Join our compassionate team as a Hospice Chaplain/Pastoral Spiritual Counselor and become a vital source of spiritual support, comfort, and guidance for patients and their families during life’s most challenging moments. In this role, you will provide holistic care that nurtures the emotional and spiritual well\-being of individuals facing end\-of\-life transitions. Your presence will offer hope, peace, and reassurance, helping patients find meaning and connection through personalized spiritual counseling and support.
**Duties**
* Deliver compassionate spiritual care tailored to the diverse needs of hospice patients and their families, respecting individual beliefs and preferences.
* Provide bereavement support to families before and after a patient’s passing, facilitating healing and closure through counseling sessions.
* Lead and participate in educational programs, teaching about grief, spirituality, and coping strategies to staff, volunteers, and community groups.
* Conduct engaging public speaking engagements and presentations on topics related to hospice care, spiritual wellness, and end\-of\-life issues.
* Develop and implement meaningful rituals or ceremonies that honor patients’ spiritual wishes, fostering comfort and peace.
* Offer crisis intervention during urgent situations, providing immediate emotional support and crisis management to patients or families in distress.
* Mentor healthcare team members on spiritual care best practices while managing conflicts or sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Care, Counseling, or a related field; ordination or certification as a chaplain preferred.
* Proven experience in hospice care, Christian counseling, or related fields with a strong foundation in crisis intervention and crisis management.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively, speak clearly, and write effectively for diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience in mentoring staff or volunteers within healthcare or community settings.
* Strong event planning skills to organize workshops, seminars, memorial services, or community outreach events.
* Knowledge of bereavement support techniques, conflict management strategies, and public speaking best practices.
