Groundskeeper/Maintenance

**About Us** Stafford Springs Cemetery has been a cornerstone of the community since its incorporation in 1882\. The property has been carefully maintained for over a century, preserving its historical significance and providing a serene resting place for generations. We are looking for a hardworking and detail\-oriented Groundskeeper to join our team and help maintain the beauty and tranquility of the cemetery. **Responsibilities** This role involves routine landscaping to keep the grounds pristine, including mowing, trimming, and edging. Trees, shrubs, and flower beds require regular upkeep to maintain a well\-kept appearance. The Groundskeeper will be responsible for clearing leaves and debris. Additional duties may include assisting with burial preparations, monument maintenance, building maintenance and ensuring equipment remains in good condition. Above all, the role requires keeping the cemetery clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. **Qualifications** Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position. Experience in cemetery landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred. The ideal candidate can operate **zero\-turn** mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment and is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. The main responsibility is **string trimming**, which involves extensive use of a trimmer to maintain the grounds. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work are essential. This role involves lifting to 100 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks. Responsibility and demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities with minimal supervision are key qualities for success in this role. **Benefits** While the schedule is structured, some flexibility may be required based on seasonal needs and weather conditions.
