Groundskeeper/Maintenance

**Summary** This position entails **seasonal OUTSIDE CEMETERY work.** The position runs from Mid\-March through Mid\-December but depends on the weather. This position has the potential to lead to full\-time. The groundskeeper performs all tasks in the maintenance of all grounds, mausoleums, buildings, roads, fixtures and equipment at the Cemetery. **Duties and Responsibilities** * Mowing and trimming of grass. Trimming is the main responsibility. * Assist with opening and closing of graves. * Assist with setup, servicing and tear down of funerals. * Repair, cleaning and maintenance of all grounds including, but not limited to, sowing of seeds, cleaning of debris, straightening and removal of decorations, etc. * Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings, structures, fixtures and roads. * Assist in the installation of the concrete foundations and memorials * Some Building Maintenance. **Physical Requirements and Work Environment** * Cemetery groundskeepers must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs. without assistance and regular lifting, squatting, bending, pulling and reaching are all part of the job requirements. * Cemetery groundskeepers are expected to work outdoors under all weather conditions. * All cemetery employees must have a neat appearance and are expected to be polite and respectful to the public whom they might encounter during the course of daily business. * Hours M \- F 7:00 am \- 3:30 pm and potential for an occasional Saturday. **Qualifications** * General familiarity and ability to operate grounds equipment such as mowers, edgers, line trimmers, chainsaws, and backhoe. * Basic mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance of grounds equipment. **Application** * Due to the nature of our work, we request **NO** inquiries by phone call or walk\-in.
