The Grief and Bereavement Resource Center seeks a compassionate Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with specialized expertise in substance abuse counseling and grief counseling to join our team as an independent contractor \- PRN. Utilize evidence\-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma\-informed care approaches. The ideal candidate will have some expertise in grief counseling and possess the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for clients to express their emotions.
**Responsibilities**
* Conduct individual or group counseling sessions to support clients through their grieving process
* Develop and implement personalized coping strategies to help clients manage their grief
* Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records
* Collaborate with other professionals, including psychiatrists, healthcare providers, and social service agencies, to ensure comprehensive client support
* Maintain ethical and professional standards, adhering to all state licensure regulations and confidentiality guidelines.
* Provide educational resources and workshops for individuals, families, and community organizations related to addiction recovery and grief processing.
* Collaborate with other professionals and community resources to enhance client support
**Requirements:**
* Minimum of two years of experience in grief counseling or a similar role.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to maintain sensitive information confidentially.
* Strong ethical standards and professionalism.
* Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
* Current LCSW licensure in South Carolina
* Demonstrated some experience in grief counseling, including work with individuals coping with bereavement and life transitions.
* Knowledge of relevant therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, trauma\-informed care, and crisis intervention.
* Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
* Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Proficiency in case management, documentation, and compliance with social work ethics and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a small organizational setting
* Knowledge of community resources
* Certification and\\or experience in substance abuse counseling (e.g., Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor \- CADC, or related credentials
