Grief Counselor

We are currently seeking a compassionate, culturally competent, and dedicated **Grief Counselor** to join our growing team of clinicians committed to transformative mental health care. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals and families as they navigate grief, loss, trauma, and life transitions in a safe and affirming therapeutic environment. **Position Overview** The Grief Counselor will provide therapeutic support to clients experiencing bereavement, anticipatory grief, traumatic loss, relationship loss, and other significant life changes. The ideal candidate is skilled in helping clients process emotions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and move toward healing while honoring their unique experiences and cultural backgrounds. Responsibilities * Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling focused on grief and bereavement * Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans * Support clients in processing complex emotions related to loss and trauma * Utilize evidence\-based therapeutic interventions and grief\-informed care approaches * Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and referral partners when appropriate * Foster a compassionate, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment * Participate in supervision, trainings, and team meetings as needed. **Qualifications** * Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field * Active licensure in Washington, D.C. and Maryland (additional states are a bonus) * Experience working with grief, trauma, crisis intervention, or life transitions strongly preferred for a minimum of two (2\) years. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills * Ability to work with diverse populations with empathy and professionalism * Passion for helping individuals heal and grow through difficult experiences **What We Offer** * Competitive compensation * Flexible scheduling options * Supportive and collaborative clinical environment * Opportunities for professional development and growth * Meaningful work that directly impacts the community **Ideal Candidate** You are compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and committed to creating safe spaces for healing.
