Funeral Service Associate - part-time

A family\-owned firm and leader in funeral service serving metro Detroit through three locations in Troy and Royal Oak, seeks a part\-time funeral service associate who is committed to exceeding expectations while being engaged, dynamic and able to excel in all aspects of funeral service. Salary commensurate with experience. A **Funeral Service Associate** handles the following duties: * Assisting grieving families while showing continual care and concern * Answering phones * Greeting and directing visitors * Transporting deceased to and from funeral homes as directed * Preparing space for and attending to funeral services * Receiving and moving flower arrangements * Supporting and assisting funeral directors to insure the highest quality, most professional, most ethical service A successful candidate must: * Possess and display an understanding of the funeral profession * Have a pleasant and responsive phone manner * Have adaptive/team player attitude * Have professional self\-presentation * Be resourceful and able to multi\-task * Be able to stand for extended periods of time * Be able to lift and move up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently * Have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of professional experience * Possess a valid driver’s license and have an insurable driving record This is a part time position, typically 10\-15 hours weekly with a varying schedule consisting mostly of evenings and weekends. An applicant needs availability Monday thru Friday from 5:00pm\-9:30pm and on weekends from 8:00am\-9:00pm. Most scheduled hours will be on the weekends, thus weekend availability is required.
