Funeral Home Assistant

This is an Entry Level position for a self\-motivated individual capable of learning all facets of the mortuary business. Our ideal candidate will be able to handle the physically demanding job of transferring deceased individuals to the funeral home and installing headstones in the cemetery. Job duties will also include but are not limited to the following: Assisting with funeral services, cremation and body preparation, and general office duties. Must be computer literate. A PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE and flexible availability are required. A clean driving record, valid drivers license, and reliable transportation is also required. This is a FULL TIME position during regular business hours Monday \- Friday 9am\-5pm, additionally there are opportunities for evening/weekend/on\-call positions. On the job training will be provided. **Job description:** * Transportation of deceased individuals from the home or hospital to the mortuary. * Preparing deceased individuals for burial or cremation services. * Use tools and equipment like excavator, jackhammer, shovels, etc in the process of digging graves to the proper level. * Assist with lifting and accurately placing caskets on lowering devices at the assigned grave. **Job Responsibilities:** * Perform work as assigned by Mortuary Manager. * Drive company vehicles in a safe and respectful manner while performing job duties. * Be courteous with funeral directors, bereaved families and visitors to the cemetery and mortuary. **Schedule:** * Monday through Friday: 8 hour shift * Weekend and evening services as needed, paid at overtime rate **Ability to commute/relocate:** * Rescue, CA 95672: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) **Requirements:** * A valid CA Drivers License Job Type: Full\-time Pay: $20\.00 \- $26\.00 per hour Benefits: * Flexible schedule * Paid time off License/Certification: * drivers license (Required) Location: * South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 (Required) Work Location: In person
