Funeral Attendant/General Worker – Cantonese & English (Funeral Home, Chinatown Manhattan)

**About Us** We are a funeral home serving the Chinese community in Manhattan's Chinatown. Our work helps families through one of the most difficult moments of their lives, and we take pride in providing compassionate, respectful, and culturally attuned care. We are looking for a warm, dependable Funeral Attendant/General Worker to be a welcoming face of our funeral home. **About the Role** As our Funeral Attendant and General Worker, greet guests, help to conduct funerals and guide guests, clean, and help keep day\-to\-day operations running smoothly. Because most of the families we serve speak Cantonese, fluent reading, writing and speaking Cantonese is essential to this role. **What You'll Do** * Help conduct traditional Chinese funerals and direct guests as well as instruct them on what to do in Cantonese and English * Daily cleaning and maintenance (mopping floors, vacuuming, maintaining bathroom cleanliness.) * Preparing chapels for funeral services (hanging flowers, vacuuming, cleaning) * Write Chinese names of decedents and family members * Ensure the funeral home is presentable * Support funeral directors during services as needed **What We're Looking For** * **Fluent in Cantonese and English** (spoken and able to read and write Chinese is a requirement) * Mandarin is not required but is a plus * Reliable, punctual * High attention to details * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Able to commute reliably to Chinatown, Manhattan * Available to work evenings and weekends as required * Prior experience in a funeral home is preferred but not required — we are happy to train the right person * Familiarity with Chinese funeral customs and traditions is a strong plus **Schedule** * Full\-time, with some evening and weekend availability required (scheduling can be further discussed when we meet to interview) **Pay \& Benefits** * $18\.00 – $22\.00 per hour, based on experience * On\-the\-job training **To Apply** Please submit your resume.
