Funeral Attendant/ Funeral Service Support Staff

As part of our team, the **Funeral Support Staff** plays a vital role in assisting with the preparation and execution of funeral and memorial services. This position requires professionalism, empathy, discretion, and a strong sense of service. **Key Responsibilities:** * Assists in setting up and breaking down funeral, memorial, or graveside services, including arranging chairs, flowers, photos and other memorial items. * Greet and direct guests during visitations and services, ensuring a warm, respectful atmosphere. * Escort families and guests to appropriate areas, offering assistance as needed. * Provide support during funeral processions, including driving service vehicles (e.g., hearse, limo, flower van) as needed. * Assist with casket placement and handling, pallbearer assistance, and other ceremonial duties as needed. * Maintain cleanliness and readiness of chapels, viewing rooms, vehicles, and common areas. * Support Funeral Directors in basic preparations and administrative tasks (based on training and comfort level). * Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of the deceased and their families at all times. **Requirements \& Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Valid state\-issued driver’s license with a clear driving record (required for any vehicle operation). * Professional appearance and demeanor. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to remain calm, composed, and supportive in emotionally charged situations. * Detail\-oriented with a high degree of concentration and attention * Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. * Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or caregiving role is a plus. * Physical ability to lift 75 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and perform light physical duties.
