Funeral Assistant

Multi\-location funeral home seeks part\-time funeral assistant. This job is for someone seeking flexible hours and is ideal for a retiree or someone looking to fill their spare time or supplement their income. Ample opportunities for after hours/weekend work, allowing the candidate to keep an additional job. No experience required. Responsibilities include: * Assisting on funerals, memorial services, and graveside services * Respectfully transferring decedents into the care of the funeral home from their place of death * Occasional road trips within Michigan or out\-of\-state * Light building maintenance The potential candidate will be expected to: * Conduct themselves in a respectful manner when dealing with the grieving public and human remains * Dress professionally and be well\-groomed * Respond quickly when a death occurs (after hours/call\-out work when responding to a death is subject to bonus pay) * Understand that funeral service is a 24/7/365 line of work that can be viewed as inconvenient * Be able to lift and stand * Work well with a team and take direction $15\-$22/hour depending on availability and ability. $50 bonus pay available for call\-out work. Pay: $15\.00 \- $22\.00 per hour Work Location: In person
