**Basic Objective**
Provide service quality excellence in all funeral\-related services exhibiting leadership and teamwork. Accountable for performing a variety of tasks, always assuring that family/customer satisfaction is paramount.
**Essential Functions**
* Learn and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Guerra Gutierrez including history, commodities, services, pricing, policies, and procedures.
* Always display a professional demeanor, appearance and attitude.
* Maintain satisfactory performance to the standards established by the company.
* Compassionately and professionally consult the families or legal representative of the deceased to create services designed to meet their end\-of\-life memorialization expectations. Ensure that the counseling provided meets the complete satisfaction of the family.
* Resolve arrangement issues that arise with concern, compassion, and empathy. Always respect the families' grief, pain, and anger, which may manifest itself during and after arrangements.
* Keep in touch with and follow up with each family throughout the process to assist them in every way possible leading up to and following the services they requested we provide.
* Accurately complete all forms and related paperwork for the arrangement process, contract agreement, and funeral service. All paperwork is to be completed expediently and entered in a timely manner in the computer system: vitals, contracts, obituaries, information for death certificates, burial permits, insurance documents, all forms filled out completely, such as checklists and any other paperwork required for each individual family and service.
* Submit all necessary paperwork timely to each department, such as embalming authorizations, prep room instructions, check requests, vitals to DC Clerk, print requests to Graphics, etc.
* Obtain payments for service timely; receive clothing, pictures, etc.
* Attend any training and instructions. Keep informed on applicable laws or funeral directors regarding informants, right to privacy, burial requirements, ship out requirements and various requirements for cemeteries we utilize, etc.
* Expediently and knowledgeably answer inquiries about funeral prices over the telephone or inquiries received in person or by email.
* Assist in lifting caskets, setting up for services, etc.
* Assist other staff as needed and other departments as needed in a professional manner.
**Minimum Requirements**
* Perform the position and all related duties in a safe, legal, and ethical manner.
* Committed to costumer service.
* Communication proficiency.
* Teamwork Oriented.
* Thoroughness and attention to detail.
* Good time management skills.
* Maintain Regular attendance and punctuality.
* Be available to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours when necessary.
* Maintain confidentiality of all material and data.
* Must dress professionally and adhere to Guerra Gutierrez dress code.
**Education and Experience**
* High school diploma or GED; and six months related experience and or / training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* College degree or some college.
* Minimum two year's experience as a Licensed Funeral Director or Licensed Funeral Arranger.
* Must be insurable, have a state issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
**Additional Qualifications**
* Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
* Bilingual is a plus.
* High degree of overall computer proficiency.
* Ability to effectively present information to families, co\-workers, and leadership.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication.
* Flexible, great attention to detail, follow through and ability to work in a team setting.
* Tactful and professional behavior whether dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise or with a disagreement or incident with a colleague.
* Ability to empathize with families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Certificates \& Licenses
* California State Department of Consumer Affairs Funeral Directors License or Licensed Funeral Arranger Certificate.
