Job description: Finance Assistant
Job Type: Full\-Time
We are seeking an experienced, detail\-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at our Los Angeles location. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health, accuracy, and legal compliance of all company operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is proactive, trustworthy, organized, and takes full ownership of financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
* Prepare and make regular bank deposits
* Update and maintain general ledgers
* Ensure all income and expenses are properly recorded and accounted for
* Track and ensure all contracts and client payments are collected in a timely manner
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
* Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data
* Record journal entries accurately using double\-entry bookkeeping principles
* Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other reports in compliance with GAAP standards
* Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
* Process and ensure timely payment of contract employees and vendor invoices
* Create and issue manual checks as needed
* Manage and reconcile petty cash for the Los Angeles location
* Oversee and monitor financial accounts for all company locations to ensure smooth operation
* Conduct audits, analyze financial data, and report findings directly to the owner
* Ensure all financial practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements
* Take initiative to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies
* Ensure employees submit receipts on time and follow payment procedures
* Verify that all payments (cash and card) are handled correctly, including confirming card payments are made by the cardholder with valid ID
* Always maintain strict confidentiality and financial integrity
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role (preferred)
* Strong proficiency with QuickBooks
* Bilingual (English required; Spanish strongly preferred)
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* High level of integrity and accountability
* Ability to manage multiple accounts and locations
* Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills
* Comfortable working independently and reporting directly to ownership
* Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial compliance
Preferred Experience
* Experience managing finances for multi\-location businesses
* Experience with audits and financial reporting
* Familiarity with cash handling policies and internal controls
