**Summary/Objective** Under the guidance of a licensed funeral director, the Embalmer Provisional provides exemplary personalized and professional service. They implement the choices made by families or legal representatives regarding the funeral, final disposition of the body, and memorialization of the individual. The Embalmer Provisional should be in harmony with the company’s core mission and values, as well as comply with our established policies and procedures. **Essential Functions and Competencies** * Cares for deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks: verifying identification and embalming authorization; completing removals and transfers; dressing, styling hair and or applying cosmetics and; any other preparation required for human remains. * Assists with maintenance of preparation room and the facility * Cleans soiled equipment and hazardous material spills * Ensures hazardous materials and spills are handled in accordance with the Material Data Safety Sheets * Assists with chemical and supply inventory * Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies * Promotes a safe work environment, being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct. **Required Education and Experience** * High school diploma or equivalent * Current state/province issued driver’s license **Other Duties** * Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
