Job Description
**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate, detail\-oriented Certified Euthanasia Technician to provide respectful end\-of\-life care for animals in a supportive veterinary environment. In this vital role, you will perform humane euthanasia procedures with empathy and professionalism, ensuring comfort and dignity for both animals and their owners. Your expertise will help families during difficult times, offering solace through gentle handling and compassionate communication. **Responsibilities**
* Perform humane euthanasia procedures on animals with precision, compassion, and adherence to veterinary protocols.
* Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including animal handling, animal restraint, and dog handling skills.
* Prepare animals for procedures by utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
* Maintain a clean and sterile environment by applying aseptic techniques during procedures and animal catheterization when necessary.
* Assist staff with pet care tasks such as grooming, pet grooming, and basic animal husbandry to ensure overall well\-being before procedures.
* Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners, explaining procedures and providing support during difficult moments.
* Document all procedures accurately in accordance with clinic policies, including detailed records of euthanasia processes and related observations.
**Qualifications**
* Proven experience working with animals in a kennel, laboratory setting, or veterinary environment.
* Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, animal physiology, and pet care practices.
* Prior veterinary technician experience or similar roles involving animal catheterization, aseptic technique, or laboratory experience preferred.
* Excellent dog training skills and familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
* Exceptional communication skills to support pet owners through sensitive situations.
