Job Description
**CEMETERY MANAGER**
**BASIC FUNCTION: To exercise field \& office supervision of the cost center under the manager’s jurisdiction. To plan, direct and accomplish general objectives of the Catholic Cemeteries Association with a maximum of efficiency and to represent the Association to the public in a manner that reflects favorably on the Catholic Church.**
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;**
**1\.** **To assure that the services offered our families are handled promptly and with compassion.**
**2\.** **To insure that the policies, regulations and procedures of the Catholic Cemeteries Association are followed, and recommend necessary changes to improve services to the public.**
**3\.** **To recommend immediate and long\-range objectives for the cemeteries.**
**4\.** **To insure that grounds, buildings and roads of the cemeteries are kept in excellent condition at all times.**
**5\.** **To assist families at the time of purchase of graves/crypts whether pre\-need or immediate need, and to encourage and promote sales on a pre\-need basis working alongside corporate.**
**6\.** **To recommend the purchase of equipment, and to assure the proper maintenance and utilization of all equipment and supplies.**
**7\.** **To recommend and propose cemetery improvements and renovation programs.**
**8\.** **To prepare an annual budget in keeping with the financial goals of the Association and to adhere to same.**
**9\.** **To select, recommend for hire, and train regular employees, to hire and train seasonal employees, and to develop a spirit of cooperation among all personnel to achieve the goals of the Organization.**
**10\.** **To monitor all cemetery employees attendance and to implement progressive disciplinary actions when necessary and approved.**
**11\.** **To resolve labor\-management disputes and grievances at the local level, if possible.**
**12\.** **To resolve complaints from lot owners and the public.**
**13\.** **To oversee the activities related to interment, including laying out and checking on graves, funeral procedures, vault setting, grave/crypt preparation and completion of interments.**
**14\.** **Should have basic computer knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook (or any email) programs.**

**15\. To assure the preparation and accuracy of all cemetery office**
**records, and to prepare statistical data, monthly area operation reports and other reports as directed.**
**16\. To pre\-plan and review individual cemetery work schedules, to** **assure sufficient and more economical methods of operations.**
**17\.** **To coordinate, supervise and perform cemetery computer operations; attesting to the accurate reporting of the computer statistical information.**
**18\.** **To insure the implementation of productivity standards as set forth by the Association.**
**19\.** **Responsible for the overall safety of employees and visitors to the cemetery.**
**20\.** **Responsible for all inventory items and proper maintenance of cemetery equipment and buildings.**
**21\.** **Follows and enforces Association’s policies and fulfills requests promptly.**
**22\.** **Responsible for productivity through pre\-job planning and scheduling.**
**23\.** **Responsible for completing projects within schedule.**
**JOB PERFORMANCE: Performance will be evaluated by accomplishments in relation to above duties.**
**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:**
**•\*** Minimum of four (4\) years experience in management\*
**•\*** Strong leadership and customer service skills\*
**•\*** High level of integrity and self\-motivated\*
