Mount Calvary Cemetery – Cheektowaga, NY Union Position – SEIU Local 200 **About Mount Calvary Cemetery** Mount Calvary Cemetery is a historic 365\-acre Catholic cemetery serving families across Western New York. Our grounds are maintained with dignity, care, and respect, providing a peaceful and beautiful place of remembrance for the community. We are seeking a Cemetery Attendant to join our Grounds Operations team and assist with the daily care of the cemetery and the preparation of gravesites and services. **Position Summary** The Cemetery Attendant performs a variety of groundskeeping and burial service duties to ensure cemetery operations run smoothly and respectfully for the families we serve. This role requires teamwork, physical work outdoors, and attention to detail. **Responsibilities** * Assist with the preparation and closing of graves for burial services * Set up tents, chairs, and equipment for funeral services * Operate grounds maintenance equipment (as trained) * Maintain cemetery grounds including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping * Install and maintain burial vaults and grave markers as needed * Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition * Work respectfully around families and funeral services **Qualifications** * Valid New York State Driver’s License * Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions * Ability to perform physically demanding work * Ability to lift up to 100 pounds * Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a respectful demeanor during funeral services **Work Environment** This position involves physical outdoor work across a large cemetery landscape and includes lifting, digging, equipment operation, and service setup. **Compensation \& Benefits** * Union position – SEIU Local 200 * Competitive hourly wage (per union contract) * Stable, year\-round employment * Opportunity to work as part of a dedicated grounds team maintaining one of Western New York’s most historic cemetery landscapes **Schedule** Full\-time position.
