**Cemetery Groundskeeper** **Job description** Cemetery in Mt. Shasta has a job opportunity for a groundskeeper. **Locations:** Mt. Shasta \- Residence within a 20\-minute proximity to Mt. Shasta is a requirement. **Essential Job Functions:** Responsibilities will include blowing, weed\-eating, trimming and other general lawn care maintenance to maintain the overall appearance of the cemetery during the spring and summer seasonal period. Additional tasks may include installing grave markers, bronze memorials, crypt faces, etc , assembling tents/canopies and arranging chairs for graveside ceremony, maintaining and repairing existing markers and other cemetery features, assisting with loading and unloading caskets and becoming part of the on call removals schedule. Meeting the public and maintaining a professional, accommodating and supportive customer service attitude. Duties include being on call for removals and transports of the decedent. This position is responsible for the care, removal and transport of human remains from hospital, nursing home or residence in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures. **Minimum Experience Preferred:** Individuals with a minimum of two years' experience in landscaping and yard maintenance will be prioritized. Strong preference for those with heavy equipment operation and small engine repair expertise. **Skill Required:** Safe driving with a willingness to learn while having effective communication and coordination of priorities with co\-workers. High level of integrity, common sense, cooperativeness and flexibility. **Typical Working Conditions:** This position is for outdoor work and requires someone who works well in a wide range of conditions including exposure to unfavorable weather conditions. **Equipment Used:** Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin\-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. Pen/Paper record keeping along with digital records data entry. Expectation of following company dress code and personal standards policies. **Essential Physical Tasks:** Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with push/pull 200\+ pounds. Twisting and turning and bending, reaching over shoulders, sitting, standing, walking on uneven and/or slippery surfaces. **Background Check \& Drug/Alcohol Testing required**.
