Cemetery Caretaker

Bellerive Gardens Cemetery is seeking a skilled full\-time or part\-time groundskeeper. Primary responsibilities include: Performs set up and completion for interments and entombments to include but not limited to correctly identifying and locating the location of grave, excavating of the grave to the proper level, assist with lifting and placing of casket on lowering device, setting up tents, removing and replacing crypt and niche fronts. Marking and digging foundations, including mixing and pouring of concrete, for markers and monuments. General grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, leaf removal, and snow plowing. Operating equipment, including excavators, skid steer, zero\-turn mowers, gators, tractors, blowers and commercial string trimmers. Primarily working in an outdoor setting with exposure to inclement weather and extreme temperatures. Maintaining equipment Light building maintenance of the office and mausoleum, including regularly replacing light bulbs and emptying trash cans. Helping to keep the cemetery looking beautiful by disposing of debris (dead flowers, deflated balloons, etc.) in the gardens and mausoleum, filling in settled graves, and other as\-needed tasks. Overtime is sometimes necessary and required. The ideal candidate for this position will have a compassionate, professional manner and a keen eye for detail, in addition to meeting the following requirements: \- Valid state issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record. \-High School diploma or equivalent. \-The legal right to work in the United States. \-The ability to read, write and speak English. \-The ability to multi\-task. \-Excellent customer service. \-The ability to perform physically demanding manual labor, including lifting 100 lbs. or more, on a regular basis. \-Demonstrable experience with the heavy equipment listed above \- as well as some mechanical knowledge of said equipment. Preferred Qualifications: General "handyman" skills. Map\-reading experience. Experience with concrete work, including building forms and mixing. Strong arithmetic skills. Prior experience in cemetery maintenance is a definite plus!
