This Per Diem role is an ideal side\-hustle for first responders, healthcare workers, or individuals with flexible schedules who want to provide a vital service to their community. RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking dedicated individuals to play a crucial role in ensuring the respectful and compassionate handling of deceased individuals entrusted to our care. As a Per Diem Care Team Specialist, you will be involved with the dignified process of transporting decedents into the care of the funeral home. Transfers can take place from care facilities, medical centers, homes, or “on\-scene”. This is a flexible, on\-call position (typically scheduled between 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM, or on weekends). You do not have to be at work or on\-site during your on\-call shift. You simply must be available to answer your phone and respond promptly within a 30\-minute radius if a call comes in. * Coordinate transportation arrangements and perform safe, respectful transfers. * Maintain compassionate, emotionally supportive interactions with families. * Comply with established procedures and be thorough in documentation. * Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance while representing the funeral home. * Maintain a highly sensitive handling of deceased individuals, with the utmost care, reverence, and respect. * Uphold strict confidentiality and privacy standards. * Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds and pull objects 135 pounds. COMPENSATION \& ON\-CALL STRUCTURE: We highly value your time and willingness to be available. We offer a highly competitive pay structure that compensates you just for being on standby, plus additional pay for every call you take: * Primary On\-Call Standby: $40 per night (paid just for being available to answer your phone and ready to respond, whether you get called or not). * Secondary On\-Call Standby: $25 per night (serves as the backup/second set of hands, paid just for being available). * Transfer Pay: $75 per completed transfer (in addition to your nightly standby stipend). QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record. * NO PREVIOUS FUNERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! We provide comprehensive on\-the\-job training. * Backgrounds in EMS, fire service, law enforcement, nursing, or healthcare are highly preferred but not strictly required. * A genuine, caring heart with the emotional maturity to work in a sensitive environment. * Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. * Must live within a 30\-minute response radius of the funeral home.
